Exaltation Of Death (2008) – Endless Autumn Is My Face

Just call me Thorn…

This forest has lost all beauty…

Its dying trees, they rise,

All leafless, gnarled and gloomy,

Against the pitch-black skies.

Behold my pale remains

That are hanging from the oak,

The cold blood in my veins,

Life surrendered to the rope.

Long ago

I committed suicide,

Harassed by woes

I hung myself in the dead of night.

I do not know

Why I have faced neither the celestial light

Nor the realm that takes all those

Who lived a sinner’s life.

I became a wraith,

A shadow o’er this place,

And in my grim embrace

Autumn rose and the forest changed its face.

Just call me Thorn

For I am sorrow, haunting thee,

And I will bring thee down in scorn

The instant thou attempt to flee.

Nothing but oppressive darkness

Thoughts succumb to grief.

Experience the pangs of death,

Exalt the season of decease.

I am the haunting wraith,

The curse upon this place.

Sombre nights and dismal days

Of endless autumn are my face.

Just call me Thorn

For I am sorrow, haunting thee

And I will bring thee down in scorn

The instant thou attempt to flee.

Experience death, exalt decease

And thou art worth escaping me.

Experience death, exalt decease,

So that I will not bring eternal grief o’er thee.

Endless autumn is my face

But eternal darkness lies ahead

If thou decide for the grave

And thus escape my haunting – dead.
